So, the 2005 LQ member's Choice awards are up for voting.
I cast mine already. If anybody cares:
Text editor: Vi(m) - the more I find out about it, the more impressed I am
DE: KDE - pretty much the same reason. I still loathe it and wouldn't want to use it myself, but that's beside the point :o)
WM: FVWM2 - try as they might, none of the others comes even close.
Distro: Gentoo. Even after extensive BSD exposure, I still rate portage as one of the most impressive package managers around.
Video app: Mplayer - it plays *everything*
Shell: BASH - 'nuff said
Audio app: XMMS - runs via GKrellM plugin, has a last.fm plugin, and controllable via the CLI
Game: No vote. Too many strong contenders
Browser: Firefox - need I say more?
Mail client: IMP - it could stand improving, but it's the best web-interface for multiple email accounts that I've found so far
Graphics app: No vote. Gimp and ImageMagick are just too good at their respective jobs to pick one.
LiveCD: DamnSmallLinux. I've been very impressed by DSL 2+ - Qemu works out of the box, the bootup has sped up noticeably, and it's a much smaller download than Knoppix. To say nothing of being easier to fit in a wallet :o)
The rest, I didn't vote on, as I had no real opinion.

Hmm.. new look for twitter? I hope it gets less "Ick! Change! Put it back!" nonsense than Facebook..
