We all know "drugs are bad" but it's often difficult to show people in a simple way just how badly they affect your brain.
A study performed a while ago found a simple but dramatic way of creating a graphic illustration of those effects: They gave tiny doses of several drugs to spiders, and observed how it affected the webs they subsequently span.
This video of the results is well worth watching:
In a similar vein, this video on the animals of Africa after they ate the fermenting fruit of the Marula tree is well worth the watch:
In other news, at this very moment, I'm baking a saucepan full of sand in the oven. And yet, incredibly, I'm perfectly sober. Truth is stranger than fiction!
