So I'm off to see my parents today.
Because it's a 100-mile journey to the Channel Tunnel, and then another 400 to their place in France, you generally want to set out early. A crossing around 6 is considered a good idea.
So I got up at 3am this morning and set out soon after.
Two hours later, I arrived at the terminal, where I discovered that they had suffered a complete systems failure. So instead of the three-quarters of an hour leisurely wait I had expected to have breakfast in, I spent half an hour queueing to get in whilst they hand-wrote all the tickets, and had barely ten minutes to have a bathroom break and buy headlight reflectors before I had to get moving.
So I've now sitting on a train that won't move for nearly half an hour, having had not enough sleep and no breakfast, knowing full well that it'll be two hours before I reach my next planned stop and can get a bite to eat.
I am *not* in a good mood right now.
