Because I've been using Firefox for so long, I forget just how many changes I've made to its behaviour. Some of them are quite tricky to track down. So I'm making a note of them here as I find them in my current vanilla install. Some of them aren't actually FF-specific, but who cares.
Because javascript can still over-ride the defaults and open links in new windows instead of new tabs, which I dislike:
In about:config, set browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction to 0
And whilst we're at it, to stop Firefox being resized by web pages:
Tools->Options->Content->Advanced (Next to "Enable Javascript") and uncheck the resize box
Install All In One gestures because I can't use Firefox without mouse gestures installed. Seriously, I can't do it.
Don't make any changes to the userChrome file to make the search box bigger, just move it to a new toolbar on its own - this is progress. Used to be you'd move it and it'd stay tiny.
To make the "Save as" dialogue have more useful buttons on the left, in the order I want them, regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies. Create the key Comdlg32 and the subkey PlacesBar in which you create Placen where n is greater than or equal to '1'. Values can be set to strings if you want to define an actual path, such as C:\web, or numbers to set defaults, such as 11 for My Computer
That's all for now.

Hmm.. new look for twitter? I hope it gets less "Ick! Change! Put it back!" nonsense than Facebook..
