So FB made some change or other to their privacy settings recently.
I mostly don't much care too much about security on FB, on the simple grounds that I don't put anything on there that I would be worried about if it were to go public. (And I think that anyone who *does* put stuff on a public site like FB that they rely on keeping private, should really think a bit more about what they're doing.)
But anyway. Privacy settings.
So I went and had a look to see what they'd changed. And have to say, I didn't really see much that was all that different. But as I was trawling through the settings, I *did* come across this little gem:
When a friend of yours allows an application to access their information, that application may also access any information about you that your friend can already see.
That's under Privacy->Applications and what it basically means is that if anyone in your Friends list on FB is the type who installs every application they ever come across (We all know at least one) then not only are they potentially opening up holes in *their* privacy, they're opening up holes in *yours*
So if you *do* have anything on Facebook that you'd rather keep limited to just people you trust, and not be made viewable to any application that anyone you know might happen to install.. you might want to take a look at the settings back there. Because by default, any application a friend of yours has seems to be given access to just about everything of yours.
