I got asked, so here's my current desktop look. It's dual-monitor, so looks rather wide on these screenshots, but you'll just have to cope :o)
It's FVWM2 running on Ubuntu 10.04. That's a GKrellM top-right, the wallpaper is courtesy of xplanet and a simple yet clever script that you can see was run from the bottom-left xterm - the green one. The other two (blue) xterms are running remotely, the lower one is for IRC and the top one is where I actually work. Both locally and remotely, I'm running GNU Screen - that's what generated the statusbar at the bottom of all the terminals, which is a damn handy thing to have if you use Screen a lot.
All the buttons & window decorations are simple gradient effects generated by FVWM - no graphics at all, except the top-left corner which has the application Mini-Icon.

Hmm.. new look for twitter? I hope it gets less "Ick! Change! Put it back!" nonsense than Facebook..
