I've been largely indifferent to the World Cup so far. In fact, so has everyone I work with. Last time we were playing, the first I knew of it was when one of the managers wandered in to the room, looked at everybody's computers, saw we were all working and not getting any media streamed in, commented "I love this place, nobody cares about the football" and wandered off.
It was a couple of hours before I worked out what he'd been talking about.
But today, I was fully aware that it was us vs. Germany, and I was really pleased. And I have to say, I finally truly appreciate the World Cup and see the point of it.
Because I was going over the Dartford Crossing this afternoon and usually on a Sunday that is totally gridlocked. But today, everyone was so busy watching England play (Alright, be annihilated by) Germany that we just sailed right over it.
Support the World Cup: It gets the idiots off the roads when you want to get somewhere :o)
