Something similar that irks me, although is curiously missing from those screenshots, was the "Set [site] as your homepage? (recommended)" - the recommended part really annoyed me. Why, exactly, was it recommended?

Maybe they've stopped that practice now. Fortunately, I'm now somewhat insulated from these things having completely rid my house of Windows computers.

It's not just on the computer! On my Windows Mobile phone randomly I get "help make Windows better" popups which tries to make me send my usage patterns - completely disregarding how expensive data is on my phone line. There isn't even a "no" button, there's a "hide", which simply minimises it but it's still there, and a "next". The only way to stop it is to disgaree to their terms and conditions.

Pathetic I tell you.
